I was sitting on my bed, going through a book that I had picked from the library earlier on. I was doing everything possible to distract myself from the uneasy feeling that had settled in my stomach over the past few days.
The village was tense, and for some reason I had a very bad feeling that something was coming. I had no idea what the thing was but I could feel it in my skin, I could feel it in the air which had shifted now. I just wanted to distract myself from it and tell myself that it wasn't what I thought it was.
I didn't want to think that it was the property of the witch. If it was the prophecy then something was wrong, really wrong. The hope that it couldn't be it was the only thing that kept me going. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. I put my book down and walked over to open it. A guard stood outside, looking so serious.
"Hey," he waved as a smile suddenly replaced the stern look on his face. "Claire, Anya wants to see you right away," he said. I nod
