CHAPTER 364 EMPTY SPACE
Elora managed to get some sleep last night only after that conversation with Fawn, which lessened her burden and lightened her spirits.
The next morning, she woke to the soft rustle of movements beside her. Though unwilling to get up yet, she lay still for a moment, eyes shut, hoping to steal a few more moments of peace before facing another day.
But peace was delusive, and her mind was already racing, replaying the events of the previous day. All of it was mostly painful, especially the reminder that she wouldn’t be at the Autumn Moon Ball to cheer her sister on.
Opening her eyes, she glanced at Fawn, who was already half-dressed, pulling on her Academy uniform and sauntering around the bedroom.
The familiar sight grounded her in the present, though a pang of guilt struck again when she remembered the promise she couldn’t keep.
“I’m almost ready,” Fawn said, catching her sleepy gaze.
