CHAPTER 78 HUDSON'S BEREAVEMENT

As Hudson finished his meal, he looked at Luna and me with gratitude in his eyes. It was clear that the gesture of kindness had touched his heart, and for a moment, he felt like the pain in his heart seemed to lift. He took another bite, taking details in the taste and texture of the food, munched it happily and then looked up at us again.
"Thank you, both of you," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "This means a lot to me. It's been a long time since I've had a decent meal, and it's nice to know that there are still people out there who care, so this means a lot to me”.
“Thank you,” Luna and I said in unison.
Luna and I exchanged a glance, and I could see the understanding in her eyes. We knew that Hudson was struggling to cope with the loss of his companion, and it was crystal clear that he was still grieving deeply.
But after he had eaten what was prepared for him, it seemed like a ray of hope had come into his life to stay.
As we sat there, the silence was broken
