#Chapter 214: A Challenge Between Cousins
Julian’s POV
Looking at Alice and Amber talking to one another, resolving this issue. Alice was only six, but she was already so resolute, so determined… She was like a miniature version of her daughter. I could only imagine the trouble she was going to be as she grew up, and I couldn’t wait to see it.
Alice wouldn’t let Amber and I out of her sight for the rest of the day, so it wasn’t until much later, when Amber and I were finally alone in the hallway outside of our bedrooms, Alice tucked in and asleep, that we were finally able to talk privately again.
“She’s just like you, you know,” I told Amber. She smiled like I had just given her the greatest compliment in the world.
Still, Amber shushed me. “Come on,” she said. “We should speak somewhere else.”
“She’s asleep,” I said.
Amber gave me a flat look. “I don’t trust her not to sneak out of her bed and listen.”
