JADE’S POV
"Don't do that; it's exhausting," he starts, and I'm a bit confused as to what he's talking about, but I don't say anything. "Stop running away when you get scared; don't ever run away from me either," he clarifies, lifting my stiff head to meet his gaze. "What's wrong?" he continues, and I shake my head in response. I wasn't about to talk about last night; he didn't seem to be as upset as I thought, but who knew when he was a pro at masking his emotions? He could flip out if I mentioned it, although it didn't seem like what he would do.
"Are we going to do this again? After everything that's happened?" He asks, staring at me expectantly as I sigh in defeat. The quicker we talk about this, the faster I can disappear. "I was trying to leave," I confess lowly, and he seems to be confused, so I know that I'll have to explain further: "I knew you'd be upset with me, so I thought that leaving was the best option."
