Mr. Richards said again, "Tell her to come over."
Charles nodded and walked out of the study, his mind a tangled mess. As a father, all he ever wished for was his son's happiness-but looking at things now, Elaria wasn't going to stay in the Richards family.
Thinking about it more, he hated himself for being too harsh, too overbearing.
The sitting room was dead quiet. Everyone just sat there-no one was in the mood for breakfast anymore.
Charles stepped in and looked at Elaria with a gentle expression. "Head to the study, your grandfather's waiting for you."
His wife immediately asked, "Has your father come around? Sebastian can't not have an heir."
Charles replied calmly, "Father made it clear-if anyone's leaving, it's Elaria choosing to walk away. Not the other way around."
Sebastian's mother slumped in her chair, defeated.
Charles turned to Elaria again, speaking softly, urging her to go.
Elaria had barely taken two steps when Sebastian stood up suddenly, "I'll go with you."
