Elaria lowered her eyes, staring at the man on his knees like he didn't have a shred of pride left. If she hadn't been gutted by him before, she might've actually felt something watching him like this. Sebastian-Caelmoor's cold-hearted golden boy. Every woman out there dreamed of having him. But her? She was done, bruised inside and out. He was like a sugar-coated pill of poison-looked sweet, but deadly as hell. And she'd had enough. No way she was going back for seconds. She pulled her hand away and turned back into the house, her figure fading into the night, with just the green hem of her sleepwear flicking behind her. Sebastian stayed there on his knees. Thunder grumbled far off, rain fell in sharp bursts, hitting his back like a thousand needles. Upstairs, Elaria made it to the hallway and spotted Valerian standing at the top, eyes fixed on her like he wanted answers. She walked past him. "Why ar
