Chapter 56: Bodyguard

|| Veronica || I was trailing behind Aaron the whole day like a lost puppy. Though I would like to refer to myself as his bodyguard. I spent the rest of the day after having lunch with him in his study room where he was working. I didn't want to leave him alone for a single second, as if I would lose him forever if I did. Therefore, for the most part, I checked him out to keep myself from getting bored. God knew how he wasn't bothered by it and tell me to fuck off. However, I fell asleep on the couch somewhere in between and opened my eyes when it was already nightfall. There was a blanket on me which Aaron must have put on me, but he was nowhere in sight. His laptop was closed and his desk was neat. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary yet... 'Aaron?" I called out. Fear started engulfing my heart. 'Aaron, where are you?" I hollered. 'Aaron? Where did you—" 'Why are you yelling?" Aaron said as he entered the room, dressed up in casuals. 'Geez, I just went to check a few things."
