Chapter 444
I locked eyes with Captain Bates, my expression firm. He didn't smile. Instead, he held my stare for a long moment before looking away.
"Your request is approved. Take this, and hopefully, you know how to use it." Angus handed me a gun.
"Thank you." I knew how to use a gun.
A few high-end clubs in Valoria City had shooting practice sessions, and I frequently attended them. While I wasn't a great shot, I was able to hit most of them.
I wore my bulletproof vest and tucked the gun close to my body.
"I'm not even sure if giving you the gun is the right decision." Angus sighed and said, "Usually, they'll search you. So, you won't be able to keep that gun."
Upon hearing his words, I paused briefly.
"So, I suggest that you give up on this idea. Let my men handle the rescue," he said, sensing my hesitation.
I shook my head. "No. But you have a point. Going in blindly might provoke them and put Mr. Ross in more danger. So, let's play along."
Angus looked puzzled as I smiled faintly.
