"You're too slow," I said with a frown. My mood was anything but pleasant. It had been seven or eight minutes since I filed my complaint.
"My apologies, sir," said Laila while snapping out of her daze and immediately bowing in apology. "The hotel's second elevator broke down, and I was stuck inside. It was only just repaired. We'll address your concern right away."
She turned to Bonnie. "Bonnie, leave now. You've seriously disturbed our guest."
Bonnie's face fell, her expression pitiful. "Laila, help me out."

I let out a cold laugh. "Is that how the hotel plans to resolve this? By just taking her away?"
"What do you want us to do, sir?" Laila saw the way Bonnie was dressed and could gauge the outcome. They were just colleagues. Laila couldn't defend Bonnie mindlessly unless she wanted to lose her job.
