#Chapter 72 Alone at Last
I held Andrew’s hand as I guided him to the stairwell. Using the master keycard, I opened the door and took him up to the top floor where Lisa’s wedding would be held. I hoped that walking there instead of taking the elevator would give me the time to settle the butterflies in my stomach.
Instead, the butterflies were fluttering even more erratically by the time we traversed the final flight of stairs. I used the master keycard and, in a grand gesture, flung open the door to reveal the top floor’s Victorian façade. Andrew let out a small gasp of wonder.
“Those photos in your binder don’t do this place justice,” he said as he stepped through door.
I followed closely behind him and turned on my cell phone light. Even in the relative darkness, the gold moldings shined against the white walls and polished wooden floors. The chandelier twinkled like a million stars as I put my light on it.
