ELORA'S POV
My Grandma’s 70th birthday is coming up soon, and I'd been talking to my uncle about how we should celebrate. We both agreed it had to be special—something she'd remember for long. But when we brought it up to her, she just waved it off like we were making a big deal out of nothing.
“A dinner with family is fine with me,” Grandma said, almost like she wanted to avoid the whole thing. “No need for all that noise you guys are planning.”
Before I could respond, Aunt Camilla stepped in to protest. “But seventy is a big deal! You can't just skip a proper celebration.”
I nodded, agreeing with her. My uncle did too.
We all knew Grandma doesn't like too much noise and attention, but this wasn't just a birthday, it was a milestone.
After almost an hour of convincing her, I think she saw how much it meant to us. She sighed, but didn't argue anymore. I guess that's her way of saying ‘fine’ without actually saying it.
