ELORA'S POV
The morning began the same way it always did. I woke up, fixed my hair into something neat, ate a little breakfast at the table with Grandma, and left before Lucian could corner me with that intense stare of his.
Grandma, Ofcourse, tried again. “Ride with Lucian, child. You shouldn't always be rushing off by yourself.”
I forced a small smile. “I'm already late, Grandma. There's too much waiting for me at work today. I can't afford to stay any longer.”
Her sigh followed me all the way out the door, but I didn't look back. Because if I did, she'd get me to wait for Lucian one way or the other.
When I got to work, I buried myself in fabrics, and endless notes. It was easier to focus on lines and colours than on the way Lucian's arms felt around me last night, the way his voice whispered those words into my ears like he meant them.
