ELORA'S POV
It was early in the evening when Lucian’s grandma called.
Though I'd been ignoring Lucian’s call for days now, one thing I could never do was ignore the old woman. Not after the kindness she has shown me and my family. So when her name flashed across the screen, I swiped to answer without hesitation.
“Hello, Grandma,” I said softly, trying to sound lighter than I felt.
“Elora, dear,” she greeted, her warm voice instantly tugging at the guilt I carried. “Lucian mentioned you were busy with work. Do you think you can still make it today?”
I bit my lip glancing at the pile of laundry I'd just dumped into the machine. The truth was, even if I had nothing to do, I wouldn't still go. Not because of her, but because I don't want to see Lucian.
