Sydney’s POV
Reflexively, my lips curled into a smile as I saw him, through the glass walls of the Elder Council building, alight from his car and sauntered toward the entrance as if this were just another pack meeting.
Aria, stirred in my mind, a mix of anticipation and wariness at Alexander's approach.
I arrived here about five minutes ago and I had half expected that I would have to wait for quite a long time before he would get here. But here he was waltzing into the building just like we agreed.
He spotted me immediately, his gold eyes locking onto mine, hands shoved into the pockets of his tailored suit. His scent, a musky blend of pine and earth, washed over me as he approached.
"Well, hello," I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
He nodded and stuffed his hands into his pockets, "Hey."
"Didn’t expect you to be this punctual," I said as I got on my feet, hanging my bag on my shoulder.
