CHAPTER 57: WHERE'S THE SHAMELESS MAN
"I'm not sick," Victoria said sharply, her arms crossed as she leaned against the kitchen counter.
She looked at Edmund with annoyance. "I'm fine. You don't need to come see me, and I don't want you to come see me. It'll give others the wrong idea. Don’t forget, we’re divorced."
Edmund frowned, taking a step closer to the doorframe. "I know we're divorced," he said gently, though his voice had a hint of frustration. "But as your ex-husband, I feel like it's my duty to make sure you're okay. Living alone here, you must feel lonely. I just want to talk to you, that's all."
Standing by Victoria's side, Sarah rolled her eyes as she glared at Edmund. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest, and she shifted her weight from one foot to the other, clearly agitated. "What are you saying? Am I not a person? Can't I hang out with Victoria?" Her voice was gravelly, and she leaned forward slightly to emphasize her point.
Edmund’s gaze shifted toward Sarah, his brow furrowing in confusion.
