Georgina chose to dress casually so she wouldn't be noticed, moving among the hotel staff with practiced ease. She had on a pair of denim jeans and a simple white top, her hair let down to partially cover her face when needed. The wealthy were typically self-absorbed; just as she'd expected, they were more interested in comparing themselves to other guests than noticing anyone not dressed in evening attire.
Georgina used their obliviousness to spy on them, wondering how she'd ever enjoyed these kinds of settings. Perhaps it had just been habit. Her father hosted and attended galas constantly, and of course, she'd always been expected to tag along. Only now, witnessing these events as an outsider, did she realize how hollow they truly were.
They were all so fake, pretending to care for one another when the reality was they'd happily watch their so-called friends fall if it meant advancing their own success. Georgina had learned that painful lesson from Megan, who despite not being born
