Chapter 49 She Is Dependent
Silas' POV
The sound of women's laughter drifted up from downstairs.
I lifted my head from a stack of tedious documents and walked to the window. Looking down, I saw Aurora weaving through the rose garden with the maids.
She had woken up five days ago. After several more days of compulsory rest under the doctor's orders, she was finally allowed out of bed. The maids were so worried about her that they barely let her out of their sight.
Aurora clearly found it overwhelming. She clung to one maid's hand and acted cute, insisting she had been trapped indoors for far too long and desperately needed fresh air. The maids had no choice but to give in and take her for a walk in the garden.
Even though she seemed energetic for someone who was just recovering, her complexion was noticeably paler than before. After playing among the flowers for a short while, she had to sit and rest on a nearby bench. The maids had braided a flower crown and quietly set it on her head.
