“What is it?”
“Whoa, why so cold, Ed? Don’t tell me you and Alice had a spat?” Charles teased, voice dripping with amusement.
Edward’s brow tightened instantly. “No,” he responded coolly.
Not exactly a fight—it was more like he was giving her the silent treatment, while Alice hadn’t even bothered to call once.
The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous he felt. Pretending to work late? Honestly, childish.
“Where are you?”
He stood up as he spoke, the click of his shoes echoing from the office to the elevator.
“Same spot as always,” Charles grinned
