When Lucius walked past Darrell, the latter's voice rang out from behind. "I know there's no hope for me at this point. I just don't want anyone else to end up like me."
"I didn't take you for a saint, Mr. Foster."
"If that incident hadn't happened, we might've even been friends."
Lucius brushed off the conversation and left without looking back.
A couple of steps later, he saw a familiar figure stumble before falling to the floor, unmoving.
Lucius turned around to see Darrell collapsed on the ground. He looked terrible, and there was even blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.
Darrell managed to say, "There are attackers onboard. We might be surrounded already.''
Darrell then blacked out without another word.
Only then did Lucius realize that the deck, which had been teeming with guests earlier, was now empty and silent. Silas and his fleet of guards had disappeared, too.
