Giselle froze when she saw the long-absent man. She rose a little awkwardly and pretended to be calm as she greeted him. "Come in and have a seat." Gideon didn't sit after coming in. He causally swept his gaze around the office before settling on Giselle's face. Then, he looked at her pregnant belly. "Are you doing okay?" Giselle instinctively touched her belly. "Everything's been fine." "Health-wise? Have you had any more episodes since then?" he asked again. "No." "That's good." He gave a faint, wry smile. "It looks like Donovan takes good care of you. I've got nothing to worry about. I'm really happy to see you living so blissfully." Giselle could detect the bitterness beneath his words, and for a moment, she didn't know how to respond. "How many months is the baby now? Has the pregnancy been tough?" Gideon changed the subject. "It's fine. Six months." Giselle recalled what Zachary had said last time and added, "You're about to be a big brother too." Gideon paused slightl
