Seraphina's POV The incident with Darius should have ruined the mood; I was ready to go home. The satisfaction of seeing karma at work was enough entertainment for one night. But Callista had other plans. "It's not time to go home yet," she said, pulling my arm as I reached for my bag. "I have something interesting to do until late tonight." I raised an eyebrow. "What? Where do you want to go?" Her expression darkened slightly. "Kaelos is sending me for training tomorrow. An intensive program that will keep me away for months." She forced a bright smile. "So tonight is my last night of freedom, and I want to spend it with my best friend." The honesty in her voice made me reconsider. Callista had always been there for me, especially during Darius's trials. I could spare a few more hours if she needed one last night of fun before being sent away by her controlling brother.
