All of a sudden, something clicked in Sophia’s mind.
“I get it now. That’s how Samantha found out,” she said.
“You do?” Denise looked at her, surprised.
“I just remembered—remember that day you came to talk to me? Right after you left, Samantha showed up out of nowhere. I didn’t think much of it then, but looking back… she must’ve seen us together and then hid somewhere nearby, listening in on our conversation.”
As soon as Sophia said that, Jason jumped in, “Then she must’ve run straight to Vivian. Vivian’s pretty sharp—used the info to come up with a twisted plan, got someone to sneak into your place that night and copied the video. Once it leaked, no one could trace it back to them.”
It really was a flawless setup.
Denise felt a fresh wave of fury rise in her chest.
Vivian and Samantha—they were like poison, constantly scheming behind her back.
Knowing all this just made Denise feel worse.
Jason tried to comfort her, saying he’d make sure Arthur gave them a proper explanation.
