Ryan's mother was truly despicable. When she couldn’t get her way with Denise, she resorted to extreme measures—going straight to Cleo. She knew Cleo had feelings for Ryan, and more importantly, Cleo had connections. She must have twisted the truth and said all sorts of horrible things about Denise in front of Cleo.
