Chapter 195
Overcome with excitement, Ryan grew nervous, fearing that this rare food would escape.
The rabbit wasn't injured, just trapped in a pit. Once it started running, Ryan was sure he couldn't catch up. The jungle was filled with bushes, and with one leap, the rabbit could disappear from Ryan's sight forever.
He took out his bow and arrow from his back and aimed at the rabbit.
An arrow shot from the bow, hitting the rabbit's thigh.
Alarmed, the rabbit sprang out, attempting to flee. But its wounded leg hampered its speed.
Ryan quickly closed the gap and pinned the struggling rabbit with his foot. It lay still, strangely docile.
If there was any other food, Ryan would never have the heart to eat the rabbit. However, with six starving mouths to feed, rabbit meat was their only hope for survival.
He grasped the rabbit's head and lifted it, its soft fur and adorable features tugging at his conscience.
"You got a rabbit!" Sherry ran over happily and took the rabbit from Ryan's hands.
