Theodore’s POV
I was doing a damn good job of shoving all my feelings aside.
The fear of my sick, pregnant mate in the middle of a battle. My rage that our enemy had struck a vulnerable community instead of coming after us directly. The hopelessness when help wasn’t here where we thought it would be.
And then the military advanced. And Alphas who weren’t supposed to have magic splintered in. And several packs of Henosis wolves came hurtling into the chaos.
I continued to keep my feelings packed away, especially not allowing hope to catch. Not yet.
I knew the second Violet left my side, charging toward something at the base of the hill. I tried to keep up with her, keenly aware that just moments ago, Riley had run off, and my mate was more exposed than she had been in weeks. Granted Riley was bringing justice to somehow who had threatened my child, so I couldn’t exactly hold his absence against him.
