Chapter 661 Too Good at Holding It In

Bella wondered why Dominic was having a business dinner with Gloriana. He had told Bella himself that there was nothing between them and that Gloriana was no longer part of Miller Group. Bella couldn't think of any other legitimate reason for them to possibly have to be around each other again. The thought churned in her mind until past 11:00 pm when Dominic finally came home. Pudding eagerly ran up to greet him. Usually, no matter how tired he was, Dominic would play with the dog for a bit, maybe toss a chew toy. But he didn't bother that night. He looked preoccupied. Bella stood at the top of the stairs, watching everything clearly. She pulled her sweater tighter around herself, her hands and feet cold. "You're still up?" Dominic noticed her standing there, pausing mid-step. His tone was calm but tinged with surprise. "I couldn't sleep," she replied, her voice equally detached. He didn't try to initiate a conversation. He simply told her to rest before walking past her.
