When the kiss ended, Stefan and Cassidy were both a little out of breath.
"All right, time to sleep," Stefan murmured, his voice husky, his eyes dark with desire.
Cassidy steadied her breathing and reached out to open the door.
Then she froze.
"What were you two just doing?" Zoe asked, her eyes sparkling with nosy amusement. "I knew you weren't going to bed this early. Something's definitely going on—spill it!"
"You… Why are you still here? I…" Cassidy stammered, her cheeks heating up.
"I saw Stefan's door open, and he wasn't in his room, so I got suspicious. And—well, looks like I was right!" Zoe grinned, teasing.
"I knew something was going on between you two. Stefan's always so cold to everyone. But the last time you came home late, he got so worried that he went out looking for you himself. That's when I knew something was up."
Stefan stood in the room, tall and composed. The heat in his gaze had faded.
He returned to his usual aloof demeanor and said flatly, "You saw what
