Chapter 123 Finding It Hard to Leave Without a Trace

I picked my bag, stared for some minutes and thinking of what I would miss. I cleared my throat and turned, heading towards the car park as I hoped that my stalker was asleep and wasn't aware that I was already on the move.
I had dropped my phone at home to lose the trail, trying to avoid being stalked in case my phone was being used to track my movements. I hoped to be gone out of Middletown before the stalker realized that I wasn't in bed at home snuggling against the pillows like the illusion that I had created.

I jumped at the sound, freezing in my spot as my heart thudded with alarm that I had been found before I even had a chance. I hadn't been expecting anyone else in Middletown to be awake and about at this time of the night.
