Following a demanding workday, I returned home after changing out of my hospital uniform, feeling quite fatigued.
Parking the car in the designated parking zone, I was about to exit the vehicle when my phone beeped with a text message.
A slight frown creased my face as I swiped upward, a subtle smile unconsciously playing on my lips, realising the person. It was a text message from Christian.
‘I have reached London and finished my meeting. I have to stay here a few more days and will return soon.’
‘Take care of yourself and our kids.’
A simple text—yet melted my heart like no other.
‘Hmm, don't worry about us. Take care of yourself. We will wait for you.’ I sent a reply. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I wrote it, but it came from the depth of my heart.
Today's events have led me to reconsider my opinion of Christian. I now believe there might be a future for us. He seems to have changed, and I see that he is making an effort.
