Summer took a sip of water. It tasted bitter, and her tongue felt numb.
“Sum don’t scare me anymore. Please?” Samson put down the glass and hugged Summer tightly as he took a deep breath.
“Samson, can you just pretend that I’m dead?” Summer pleaded in a pressing tone.
Just pretend that she had died one year ago.
Just pretend that the pure woman who only loved Samson and had no one other than Samson in her heart had died.
“No!” There was a rage in Samson’s voice, and he hugged Summer even more tightly. “After you recover, let’s go home.”
“I can’t. Things will never be like how they used to be again…” Summer gave up struggling, and her body was limp as she lay against Samson’s chest.
Both of them knew very well that things would never be like how they used to be again.
Too much had changed within a year.
“It’s okay if you can’t go home. I’ll stay here with you.” Samson said affectionately as he kissed Summer’s forehead.
