Chapter 101 The Results Are Out
When William met Jeanette's calm gaze, he found himself at a loss for words.
He had to admit that he didn't actually want the divorce. He wanted to make it up to her.
He needed to figure out what was going on with her health and then find a way to make it right. Only after his guilt eased would he bring up the divorce.
Faced with Jeanette's question, William chose to change the subject. "I've already fired George."
Jeanette nearly lost track of what he was trying to say. "And then?"
William's eyes landed on her. "I won't let you be wronged again."
Jeanette almost laughed. So, this was him trying to make peace with her? Unfortunately, he was far too late. She didn't want it anymore.
"That's your decision," she said calmly. "Don't act like you're doing it for me. I don't need that. Besides, William, if you really have that much time and energy, save it for Giselle. She's the one carrying your child—"
