Marceline truly didn't understand him anymore. It felt like the two of them hadn't been on the same page for a few years now.
He always stood at a distance, watching coldly from the sidelines, and never bothered to understand her pain. On the other hand, she had gotten used to dragging herself through the mud, with no one ever coming to save her.
