Chapter 219
Selena’s POV
My hands were sweating under the table while I was sitting in front of Elias’s mother. She was sipping on her coffee while looking at me. She looked hesitant.
Yesterday, she called me and asked to meet. So I cleared my schedule for today and met her at an open-air coffee shop. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, but I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy the ambience because of the tension the person sitting in front of me brought.
She wouldn’t come here for nothing, and I know it involved Elias.
“I’m sorry for the sudden request, Selena. I know you’re busy, but I really need to ask you something.” Despite her hesitation, she started.
My lips pressed together as I pinched my leg under the table. My heart was racing so loud and fast. My breathing was uneven.
“It’s nothing, auntie,” I whispered, unsure if I really meant it because my chest felt so heavy right now.
She nodded and set the cup of coffee on the table.
“Have you been seeing Elias?” Her question got me tongue-tied
