Later, Abigail walked out of Foster Group. She knew she had been too impatient today. She shouldn't have said those things to Jeffrey.
But she had no sense of security, especially after running into Chandler. Just thinking of that name made a chill creep up Abigail's spine. She quickened her pace and reached her car.
The moment she pulled open the door, a familiar figure entered her peripheral vision.
Chandler!
Abigail sucked in a sharp breath, startled out of her wits. All the color drained from her face.
"Am I really that scary, Abigail?" Chandler asked with a smiling gaze. "I'm not a ghost."
No, he was more terrifying than a ghost.
There were people everywhere inside Foster Group, so Chandler wouldn't dare act recklessly. But now, the parking lot was empty, with just him and her.
Abigail immediately got into the driver's seat, slammed the door shut, and instinctively hit the lock button.
With the doors locked and windows sealed, Chandler couldn't get to her.
