At the top floor of the building, Justin sat with a group of people around the conference table.
"Eira's been stirring things up again," he said with a smirk in his tone. "Guess that girl really figured out a trick or two in the past two years-actually traced us here?"
A man leaned forward, voice raspy and low. "Maybe it's time we gave her a little warning."
A flicker of cold light passed through Justin's eyes. "Yeah, she needs a wake-up call."
Right then, a panicked voice broke through the tension in the room.
"Trouble! We've been hit by some pro-level hacker-company systems are all compromised!" A guy in the corner growled, annoyed. "Why the hell didn't Patrick wipe everything before he bailed?!"
Justin's face shifted slightly, words cut off mid-sentence.
At the same moment, Eira shut her laptop with a soft click, tapping a finger against its cold surface. She'd gathered every lead she needed-this truth wasn't staying hidden for long.
