Alexander cut him off, pushed the door open, and strode out into the night.
Inside the dimly lit bar, the music was deafening. But Alexander seemed totally disconnected from the noise. He picked a seat at the bar, ordered a strong drink, and stared ahead blankly.
The burn of the alcohol gave his mind a small break, but he couldn't stop replaying the slap Eira gave him, and the look of disappointment in his grandpa's eyes...
"Did I really mess up that bad?"
He muttered to himself, the words drowned by the blaring music. Drink after drink went down, but none of it cleared the heaviness pressing on his chest.
