Aisha's POV
My throat tightened.
I tried to sit up, but pain lanced through my arms. The cuffs weren't ordinary silver, they pulsed faintly with runes, tightening whenever I struggled. I stopped fighting and scanned the room instead.
A basement. Wide, but windowless except for those slits high above. There were symbols carved into the stones, dark, pulsing faintly in sync with the cuffs. They weren't just meant to hold me. They were meant to drain me.
I am tired of waking up this way, I didn't know what happened, all I could remember was that Brayden and Jack left and I heard a click.
