Daimon’s grip on his phone tightened, his tone dropping even lower.
"Katrina, listen carefully. If I find out that you did anything to hurt her, I won't hold back just because of the years we've known each other. Come back immediately. You are not allowed to go anywhere without my permission."
Before Katrina could respond, he ended the call abruptly, grabbing his coat and striding out of his office. As he stepped into the corridor, he nearly collided with Joxan, who was just leaving Oasis’s room.
Surprised, Daimon paused.
"Heading out?" he asked, though there was a strange reluctance in his voice. It was a conflicting feeling—something he couldn't quite put into words. Part of him still didn’t have the test results to confirm it, but deep down, he already felt certain that Joxan was his son. Maybe that’s why he had been so harsh on him before—fighting the guilt and regret clawing at his conscience.
