Then, as if struck by an idea, she suddenly jumped up and ran into the living room.
"Grandpa, let's plant a cherry tree! That way, we can eat cherries straight from our tree."
Peter was silent for a few seconds before slapping his knee and beaming, "Sounds like a plan!"
James glanced out the window from his bedroom and saw Abigail digging in the dirt. He got up and walked outside.
"What are you doing now?" he asked.
"Planting a tree."
James looked around and inquired, "And where's the tree?"
Abigail pointed to a pile of cherry pits wrapped in paper.
James was left dumbfounded.
Meanwhile, Cliff had been carried outside by Jason to see the commotion. Jason knew his young nephew well. He wasn't interested in much, but he loved a good spectacle.
By evening, their work was finally done.
