Chapter 1405
James read through the email word by word before finally calling Oliver.
In his office, Oliver glanced at his ringing phone. He instinctively reached for it, but he hung up at the last second.
James put down his phone. The relief he'd felt moments ago was gone, replaced by a tight knot in his chest.
He wiped the dampness at the corners of his eyes. He cared about Oliver's opinion as his support meant more to him than anyone else's.
James then let out a bitter chuckle. He had already angered Oliver. How could he expect Oliver's support now?
Just then, his phone rang again.
He instantly grabbed it. But when he saw the caller ID, a flicker of disappointment flashed across his eyes. It wasn't Oliver.
"Hey, Robert."
"James, you got the email, right? Come to the office and handle your exit procedures."
"Got it."
After several days of absence, James finally reappeared in the public eye.
He seemed much more mature. The last time they'd seen him, he was still a carefree young man.
