121: Silent Treatment

Sasha and I were sitting on her comfortable couch, discussing my love life, or lack thereof, when suddenly, we heard loud gunshots coming from outside.
"What the hell is going on?" I exclaimed. At this point, my heart was racing with fear.
"I don't know, but we need to hide," Sasha replied in a trembling voice.
We quickly got up, and Sasha locked the door while I rushed to close all the curtains. We both crouched down behind the couch, listening intently for any more gunshots.
"Who could be shooting?" I whispered, trying to keep my voice steady.
"I don't know, but we need to stay quiet and wait for it to stop," Sasha whispered back. She was gripping my hand tightly. And man, this was just fucked up.
Minutes went by, but the gunshots didn't stop. Instead, they seemed to be getting closer and closer. My heart was pounding so hard that I was sure Sasha could hear it.
