Drake laughed, shaking his head. "You're right. It's time to put the philosophical musings aside and join the party. I can't miss out on the cake cutting."
We made our way back inside, the sounds of laughter and music growing louder as we approached the crowd. My mom was beaming, surrounded by friends and family, as she prepared to cut the cake.
"Everyone, gather around," she called out, her voice joyful and filled with gratitude. "I want to thank you all for being here tonight. It means the world to me to have so many amazing people in my life."
As we all cheered and applauded, my mom cut the cake with a big smile on her face. In that moment, surrounded by those I cared about, I couldn't help but feel grateful for everything I had.
