Shawn’s laugh was low and menacing. “You should be. I know exactly how to hurt you. And right now, you’re more vulnerable than ever.”
Before I could respond, the line went dead. I stared at the phone, my heart pounding. Shawn’s words settled heavily on my shoulders, and the fear crept back in.
I turned to Drake, gently shaking him awake. “Drake, wake up,” I said softly. “Shawn just called. He’s threatening me again.”
Drake’s eyes snapped open, and he immediately sat up, his expression turning serious. “What did he say?”
I recounted the chilling details of the call, my voice trembling slightly. “He said he’s watching me and that no amount of security can protect me. He’s going to find a way to hurt me.”
Drake’s face darkened with concern and resolve. “We need to make sure the security measures are tightened. I’ll call Jack and get him involved. We need to make sure there are no more breaches.”
I nodded, feeling a mix of fear and determination. “Okay. I’ll be ready to coop
