“You thought asking random people to mediate our argument was a good idea?” the woman interrupted, her voice rising. “That’s just ridiculous!”
Drake leaned closer to me, whispering, “This is turning into quite the show. I didn’t expect to be a mediator today.”
I whispered back, “Neither did I, but let’s try to keep things calm.”
I stepped forward with a conciliatory smile. “Okay, how about we take a deep breath and hear each other out? We’re here now, so let’s see if we can help.”
The woman shot the man a scathing look. “You know what? I’m tired of having the same argument over and over. It’s always the same excuses.”
