"Emily!" Victor's hand was extremely swollen at the moment, and he could barely stand the pain. Still, he ignored the downpour and ran after Emily. The rain kept streaming down the umbrella's frame, separating them. It was like a deep river that never could be crossed. "I… I'm injured. Can you please take me to the hospital?" Victor raised his bruised right hand, hoping that he could make her give in. Emily stared at his hand and did not utter a word. At Glenside Hospital, the lights in the emergency room were blinding. Victor lay on the hospital bed. His right hand was bandaged, covering the wound he sustained from punching Marcus. Emily stood next to his bed as she analyzed his medical report. She spoke calmly as if she were merely talking about the weather. "You have a minor fracture in your finger bone. You'll be fine in two weeks." She closed the medical file. She was about to walk away when he grabbed her wrist hard with his left hand. "Emily…" Victor's voice was extr
