Isabella’s POV I knew that what happened at the charity gala would become an issue, especially after what Matteo did. He carried me before the eyes of everyone like I was some kind of important treasure. To him, it wouldn’t cause any damage, but to me, I became the talk of the town the next morning. I haven’t seen Matteo since I woke up. I prepared Noah’s breakfast and sent him to school, but I had to come back home after James picked me up, saying I shouldn’t be seen in public. When I arrived at the mansion, I found out the reason. “The rumors spread like wildfire, Miss Clarkson. It was obviously meant to stain your reputation.” I bit my bottom lip. Of course, Matteo couldn’t be ruined. Even after what happened at the charity gala last night, people won’t even call him names because he’s powerful and people protect an important personality like him. I lifted my face to James. “Can’t I do something about it?” “A press conference is the wisest idea, but I don’t think it’s good for you.
