I jolted awake, drenched in cold sweat, gasping for breath before slumping back into the airplane seat, still shaken.
That damn nightmare again—my messed-up past life just wouldn’t leave me alone.
Instinctively, I placed a hand on my flat stomach. A chill spread through me, and the guilt hit like a wave. I let out a bitter laugh, trying to pull myself together.
