Alicia forced a smile as she listened to Countess Cartie.
"My dear child, you’ve been through such an ordeal. It’s all the fault of those careless security guards who let that terrorist in."
"The truth is, that fool wasn’t even after you—he was looking for Yolanda but mistook you for her. That’s how this mess happened."
"Thank God you’re alright, though."
Alicia felt a flash of confusion at these words. The attacker was after Yolanda? Alicia didn’t believe it for a second. After all, the male servant had specifically called her out by name and claimed to be bringing her to the Countess.
She glanced at Charles, who stood behind the Countess. The moment their eyes met, Charles looked away, a trace of guilt flickering in his expression. But this wasn’t something Alicia could discuss in front of the Countess.
Patting the elderly woman’s hand gently, Alicia forced another smile.
"Grandmother, I’m fine. There’s no need to worry about me. Please, go home and get some rest
