Wayne's silence stretched on, pulling Miranda's nerves taut.
She had no way of reading his thoughts from that expressionless face. Now that he knew that she was Miranda, why else would he come storming in like this, if not to settle the score?
She clenched her fist. Could he not just get it over with and decide her outcome already?
"Why didn't you answer my call?" he asked.
"I was scared," Miranda muttered.
"I've known for a while that you're Miranda."

"You kept it from me. Why couldn't I do the same?" Wayne answered nonchalantly.
She was completely speechless.
